No, I am very early in this entire process, but this is a helpful direction to take. I am just trying to "go back to school" here and get educated and mentored by the community of experts first (if this makes sense!). Thank you for the helpful tip!

 

If you intention is to sell the work for top dollar, then you will need it authenticated by the artist's estate. Fortunately, they maintain a web site. You will need to provide them with photograph(s) and information as to provenance. Most likely they have a catalogue raisoneé and, with luck, will be able to identify your work as to title and date. Interestingly, the artist used a foreshortened violin as a subject before. This is from 1924; your work appears to be Mid-Century.
