Featured Help with more beads please

    They look like Turquoise, are cold to the touch, one bead has broken and it's not white inside, tried sticking a hot pin in one and nothing happened, just a tiny soot mark which wiped off. But.
    I'm still not sure what they're made of, something about the way some of the 'pyrites' stick out of the beads doesn't sit right with me.

    If you have any idea what they might be made of, have seen similar or can suggest more ways to test them please please do tell me, I've had these a few weeks and still can't figure it out. I didn't pay much for them so it doesn't matter either way, I just want to know

    Chinese turquoise is my guess - the stabilised chalk variety maybe. The expensive stones wouldn't have costume findings, and it looks coated somehow.

    Thank you, yes it does seem to be coated, resin perhaps?

    Certainly possible. These aren't high-dollar beads.
