Featured It's weird bead time. I mean, really odd.

Strange mix, these. Some carnelian, carved stone, bone or something skulls and some nice glass. They look as though they started out together though.

Thoughts please?

 

Bone, wood, glass and tagua nut is what it looks like.

 

Ooh, I’ve got some skulls like this! I tracked them down to something weirdy like buffalo or was it Yak? bone and pretty new. I love them for their quirkiness!
Do they look like this close up?

I’ve a huge chunky string of quite similar but supersize ones, each skull about the size of a spool of thread & the whole hangs neck to waist (but where? Eh, some where)

 

Aha. Nepal would make sense, especially with the brass hook and eye. You get that on Indian and related stuffs. I like the idea of meditation tools.

The white swirls are glass and I’m thinking Chinese. They remind me of Dalian snowflake vases. Brown oval ones are definitely carnelian. The square rods are something organic, discs are a mix of more carnelian, with pottery and something organic. And good thought on carved nut, I can see that now. Can’t decide on the black and white ones.

More I look, more I like it. Cost me a coffee.

 

Probably India with those long bone beads with stamped circles, and carnelian. The clasp is also Indian.
They also make those skull beads for malas but use them for fashion/costume jewellery as well.

Indian glass beads, I have an Indian glass bead necklace made with similar beads, only mine are a soft turquoisy mint colour.
