    Hi!
I have a brooch (or medal). Can you advize what type of brooch is. It’s unusual. I tested and its not gold.
    Thank you

Please show the back plus a close up of any marks.

Where did you get it? What do you know about its history? Where are you (this is a global board)?

It may be a souvenir of Venice, Italy.

    Not many bagpipes in Venice.;)
It could be Italian though, with that floppy (felt?) wide-brimmed hat. If so, the bagpipe could be a zampogna.

Is there a crest in the top bit? Can we see a closeup?

Cropped and tweaked it a bit, not the best result.

    I am in Utah.
I don’t know anything about the brooch’s history. Got it at garage sale a while ago. There are not marks, but the gold-like smooth finish and the unusual design, make me curious about it. Thank again.

It is costume jewellery, a fantasy piece imo.
The crown isn't a royal crown btw. Where I am from, the Netherlands, it would be the crown of an earl. Other countries have other crown shapes and classifications. But who knows which country the designer drew inspiration from.;)
There is no link between the crown and folklore elements like bagpipes and a regional hat.
It is a fun piece with several symbols and elements thrown together, probably 1980s.
