Here's a can of 1923 bronzing powder i found at the thrift (1/2 full). I'll use it to re-gild the cast iron hooks on my 1880's Pullman iron & oak coat/luggage rack. @kyratango -vintage restoration supplies for vintage pieces !
Should be a fun experiment once i choose the correct medium to use-thinking oil based.
PS-You should see some of the 19th century Windsor & Newton watercolor boxes for sale online !

Copyright 1923, isn't it? (The packaging does look somewhat later.)

Yep 1923,could be Wartime packaging-be interesting to see how it works, although I'd think bronze powder should be inert/stable.

Nice find. Just a word of caution...wear a dust mask when working with bronzing powder...you probably already know this.

Absolutely Joan-Still got a good double-filter mask from when I airbrushed.

I have a can of that exact brand. Was hanging on to it in case something came up that i needed it for. Would love to hear and see how you did.

I'll post when i get to it.I'll experiment w/ various mediums.I'd like to use oil paint as a carrier, but w/o an accelerant it can take months/years to fully cure. Then I may use a suitable gold medium for highlights.
