Featured Keishi Pearls? If so, any particular type?

I spent out of my price range for a piece of yard sale jewelry, but it mesmerized me. The lady made it, said it was keishi pearls, sterling clasp, and there is some tiny ineligible mark on the clasp. My first question is, what type of keishi pearls are they? They are extremely iridescent, larger, and irregular. And is the clasp a particular dedign/model? I googled extensively and found these, the closest ones like them, but my pearls seem much larger. Thanks.

    Beautiful. How big are they?
If they are bigger than most, maybe from bigger molluscs? Or maybe because of a stronger reaction to whatever caused them to produce keshi pearls?

I have to measure them....they seem to be larger than the ones in the link I posted.

They average about an inch and a half at the widest point.

That is big. The ones in the link are up to 31mm, and yours are up to 38mm. Not a huge difference, but yours are definitely larger.

I do think they are keshi though, and impressive at that size. Beautiful on a plain black dress.

Thanks. I think I got a bargain even at $20. She matched the newer crystals well with the color of the pearls. I do think the clasp is sterling. I plan on wearing them to a retirement ceremony with a plain black dress. Now I need earrings....

Yes, the colourplay matches the colours in the pearls.

Go back to the source & ask your new jewelry designer/yard sale lady to make earrings ;)

I think she was getting rid of everything she made. I did order some less expensive freshwater peach and lavender 8 to 10mm pearls. I know how to bead.
