Hi all. Just picked these up because they were too pretty to leave behind. They are 3 ft tall,1 8 inches wide,1 11 in wide. It says on the back they were a gift circa 1916,wick looks about right to me/Any input is always appreciated. Tried to get a pic of the frame details...
explain to me , exactly what woman would want those as a wedding present..... then...or anytime. Black marker with recent style script....... I could write that!!!! Frame is interesting......girl in the red looks trimmed down.... Good 4 u Johnny....I couldn't bring those in the front door....without figuring to be sleeping in the car !!!!!
Maybe back then ladies were just grateful for whatever they got for a wedding present. I knew that script was new,but it does coincide with their wedding date. Ive yet to take them apart and give them a good clean, but when I do I'll see if its cut down. I think they are pretty, and remarkably colorful for the age. No matter how much I glean, theres always more. Ah well,I could be addicted to heroin so thrifts seem the safer option!
1911. The other image is later, 1920s. Deleted https://www.ebay.com/itm/175688479431?hash=item28e7d972c7:g:UXUAAOSwwmBkOHVK Debora
Red Alert.......... the 1st link in Deb's post..............DO NOT click on any link inside that page.... ANY LINK it froze my computer badly.........and I'm yet to know how bad !!!!!!!!
Spot on ! Mine has been trimmed by about an inch ,but how cool to know who, where and what ! Now I have to open the other one !
These are gorgeous, Johnny. I’m gonna have to do some research to see if that Pabst stuff is as good as promised
Great score Johnny ! Any kind of Pre-Prohibition advertising associated w/ beer or booze is a great seller. Haven't researched sales prices except for Debora's-but I'd think you might be able to add at least $400-$600 to your 'Pickin' poke' if you decide to sell. PS-There are of course Pabst specialists & 'yard long' aficionados.Hey $7.99-no brainer. ? PSS-If i might ask-is that a GW sticker.
Great research Debora as always-seriously you'd make one hell of a fine detective (i aint joking here).
I can't find the second image anywhere. Given later date and size difference, wonder if it's not part of a different series. Debora
