Hello I have this older I believe antique rocking chair and do not know anything about it. If anyone has information as to the type of chair, make, values whatever would love to find out. Trying to sell it.

I am editing this post as I was unable to add photos but now have been able to do so. Photos of chair is now attached.

i did not see any markings of companies, builders, or dates on the chair.

    Thanks!

Probably photos too large. OP: Email the photos to yourself, and save size Medium. Up they go.

Do you have any idea on age or if it’s made by a company or how much you think it’s worth?

Mine has THONET (the maker) impressed into the back of the seat. I was given it (brand new) as a gift in 1969.

We don't do values here. But it is common enough that you should be able to find active and completed listings online. Where are you?

that damage will be a limiting factor on who would buy it and what they would pay....

The damage to the caning? Replaceable, of course, but expensive to do so.

Lots of knock-off of Thonet rockers made for a lot of years. If not a true thonet, the value is very minimal. Think the seat damage negates it further to nil. From what I can see, yours appears to be a fairly modern knock-off (would love to be proven wrong).

    Agree with verybrad.
Unfortunately, that's something I'd take to the curb during a cleanout... not even worth donating.

Yep, lots of bent wood furniture was popular in the 70s and 80s.
