    Hello
I am looking at a ring but I’m concerned about it authenticity.

It has a lion passant, 10k and crown, no date letter or makers mark. It is being called rose gold. I know the lion passant is sometimes used outside of just Sterling but it seems like incomplete and possibly fake hallmarks. I know 10k is uncommon on a very old ring. Anyone have and knowledge or expertise to share that might confirm my suspicions?
    Thank you for your help!

@Redwood welcome to the forum :)
Please can we see more photos of the entire ring and all the other marks?
Also click ‘full image’ so they come out full size not as thumbnails. Thankyou

    Hallmarks can be incomplete sometimes.
The 10k mark doesn't strike me as British, surely it would be 10ct.
As far as the lion passant is concerned, I know it was used for both 18 and 22ct at one time, but I don't know that it was used on 10ct. But as I said, a 'k' for carats with British marks is odd.

Thank you very much for that info. I also thought the same, they seems off to me. It’s an auction and unfortunately the auction house hasn’t been overly helpful in adding any other details. I believe 10 carat is also uncommon for English gold as it was usually 9 or 14 or higher.
I am hesitant, although I do like the ring I don’t want to pay for a fake!

A lovely ring, I always like this type. But the marks are puzzling.
Maybe @Ownedbybear knows what is going on there.

The stamps look hokey but the metal looks alright
Maybe just faked stamps to save giving money to the queen
