Featured Queen Ann 1713 cup?

Haha! A friend of mine saw a rose cut diamond ring in a pawn shop. She thought about it all night, and was desperate to have it!
She didn't have access to a car the next day, so she took an Uber(hired car) back to the pawn shop to buy it!

 

As said, typically baleen, but have also seen ivory, wood, etc. - not a huge problem, a good woodworker could lathe-turn a nice replacement...

Oh yes, the toddy ladle is quite different from the wine taster. I couldn't see the cup height from the original photos. Thanks for the correction and further information. As always, this board is loaded with diverse knowledge.

well, now I'm suspicious !!....

 

They will be suspicious when I show up again! Now I have to go down to that shop and haggle with the guy to get the toddy cup and the cicada brooch for a price that I can live with!

 

Once at an antique mall I found a Santa Clara pot clearly signed 'Margaret Tafoya.' It did not have a price on it. I took it up to the desk and they said they'd try to call the dealer. I waited and waited, trying not to seem too excited and arouse suspicion.

Eventually they said, almost apologetically, 'She's gonna need to get $65 for it.' Again, I didn't want to seem too eager so I casually said, 'We'll, I guess I'll take it...' and then when I paid for it I ran out of the store before they changed their minds!
