    Any lamp collectors recognize the maker of this base ? Details; Bronze, not clad spelter, 26" tall, 3 Hubbell press fit sockets w/acorn pulls (1912-20), looks like the no. 251 is a model number with a numeral 6 added via a punch ? Thoughts. s-l1600 - 2023-04-15T094536.720.jpg s-l1600 - 2023-04-15T094627.509.jpg s-l1600 - 2023-04-15T094652.671.jpg s-l1600 - 2023-04-15T095205.754.jpg

Those acorn pulls on the Hubbells would have been the cat's butt back in the day. Still are highly sought after.

Here's a 4 socket Hubbell w/acorn pulls lamp I found a few years ago . . .early ones, has a set screw to hold the shell 1/2's together, not press fit, circa 1905-10. It's truly amazing how well the orig. switches work. 312900679_2072361276283803_6187011664961283552_n (1).jpg

I can't tell if that's a good thing or a bad thing? LOL. Never heard that saying before. "Cat's meow?" Yup. "Cat's butt?" Nope.

Just kidding with you - I can infer that it's a good thing.

Now I'm even more confused. Is that to freshen your cat's rear end or is it an air freshener that smells like cat butt? :p :D:D:D

Having lived in Normal, IL for awhile, I might have to try finding one of these. Seems I remember seeing these at some point but washed it from my mind. No doubt made by an entrepreneurial student or professor in agriculture.
