I’m not a smoker, but find myself intrigued by this little clay tobacco pipe that I found in a local antique shop. It’s well-made, and “feels” seriously old, but I’ve had zero luck finding a reasonably close match to it online. Any ideas about when it might date to, and where it was made? There is no maker mark on it. Thanks!

Thanks! I will check out the link. As for the maker mark, it doesn’t have one. There was a typo in my original post that I’ve now corrected!

Found it, thanks to Any Jewelry! The Amsterdam Pipe Museum says it’s English, 1860-1910.

You weren’t far off with the dating. With no maker or registration mark I believe this pipe dates nearer to the 1860 end of the estimate, rather than the 1910 end.

@David Askett, out of curiosity, what page did you find it on???? I'd gotten to page 11, but nearly choked when I saw there were 144 pages!!!!

I just searched under “clay pipes” with the key word “hand”. It was on the first page of results.

I was thinking either a torch, or bouquet of flowers. Hadn’t thought about ice cream cone!
