Really love the copperwork that comes out of Santa Clara Del Cobre and have found these two vintage pieces over the years. Would love to know what anyone can tell me about them but here are the main questions I suppose. What timeframe would they have been made? Were they created and hand hammered by Ana or James themselves, or by other coppersmiths in the town? How would they have been originally purchased...only on site or by mail? The copper pot is 8" diameter and 3.25" height. thanks

While I am familiar with some of the copper work more recently coming from Santa Clara del Cobre, I did not know about Ana and James. A little research brought me this informative piece.

I think with those marks, your pieces must at least come from their workshop.

Ironically, I was in Patzcuaro in 1979. I had no information about Santa Clara Del Cobre or I might have taken a little side trip. Looks like it is just 18 Km. South. There was no metion of it in the guide books I was using at the time.

Forgive me if this is obvious to all but... "del Cobre" means "of Copper."
