    Hi folks,
After a long time of searching and hoping, I seem to have found at last a small saphiret brooch. It is most certainly Czech but as I am not sage with dating, can you help me in this? Especially @Ownedbybear and @Any Jewelry, I would very much appreciate your opinion.
    Thank you for looking!

pre-WWII at any rate; that looks like the good kind of Sapphiret, maybe even Victorian. 1910 wouldn't surprise me.

I have find envy this week. Lovely stones. I’m thinking Edwardian. High necked blouses and all that.

Thank you all for your appreciation and contribution! It is indeed very difficult to find saphiret here, and pre WWII jewelry in general, mostly finds are after WWII Czech pieces. There are historical reasons for this. I hoped but had very little expectations and was really surprised to find it. Pleasantly surprised. It is small but the color and looking of the stones are beautiful indeed.

OBB, thank you very much, your expertise is so welcome! Eduardian" means it can be dated around 1900-1910. Here burgeous ladies also wore dresses and jewelry similar to those in UK in that period of time.

Thanks again, guys, you are a wonderful community, I am honoured and proud to be part of it!

Kyra, thank you! Is it so unusual, that fan shape? Had no idea the form is something to be distinguished.

Komo, I like old looking jewelry, it has some nobel aura for me. Don't think I will do any intervention on it.

For the shape, figural is less common than, say, stars or snow flakes:)
And a fan is so feminine!

Thank you, Kyra, now as you said it, it seems so logical :) Actually, to be honest, I just now paid attention that it has a fan shape, apparently I was too overwhelmed with the mere fact of finding :joyful: Thanks for pointing it!

I can so empathise with this!
(Gets excited finding an 18k ring, COMPLETELY misses that the glass is c2000 years old…..) I’m embarrassed for myself sometimes and thank my lucky stars for this forum.
Saphiret is such an exciting and wonderful find. I hope you wear it and love it.

Thank you so much, Any! I knew about Kyra's affection but did not know about yours, now I will know :joyful::kiss::kiss:

Thank you, KSW! I love it but actually now I started being a bit afraid to wear it as the clasp does not seem to me safe enough (it is the old type C clasp and not the safety one) and I am afraid I can lose it. And will be sooooo sorry! Getting crazy... :nailbiting:
You don't have to be embarrassed, you didn't expect such a treasure, and no one would, the probability is so low that it is like winning a lottery. 18 K gold is rare enough but still imaginable so you focused on it. Furthermore, it has a mark while the ancient glass doesn't.
You really score the find of the year! Yes, saphiret is rare but Roman glass from 2000 years back is just another league :) Hope it fits you and you can wear it without being afraid like me :)

A very simple security trick to wear beloved brooches you'd be devastated to loose...
Cut a piece of a large rubber band and placing it on back of the fabric, pin your brooch through both. If the clasp opens, the brooch will not fall!
