Some early 20th Century Japanese Kutani

    I picked these up the other day for a song, to add to my collection.
    Unique 10 1/4" bowl with octagon base and a cup & saucer.
    The interesting thing about this cup and saucer is on Gotheborg
    the first entry for Kutani generic marks is of a tea set with two different marks.
    Mine have the same marks. The mark on the bowl is more similar to the 1930 mark though. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

    Yes, you have identified it correctly. Late inter-war Kutani ware. Both are Kutani marks, one is just scrawled (rushing for piecework).

    I have also assumed that pieces with this "vignette" decoration were from or were imitating the western japonisme designs pre-1900. Thank you Ce BCA for weighing in.
