I found this amazing bracelet that I absolutely love however it is too big. I can fit four whole fingers in the bracelet when it is clasped on my wrist. It doesn't look like this bracelet is easily sizeable based on the construction of it unfortunately. I still thought I would post it and see what you all thought!

Maybe, I would take it to a jeweler and get their opinion.

I like it very much. I think a jeweler could take a link out. Whether the process could be reversed would depend on whether they had to cut the link. I have a very small wrist and it always a problem.

If one link and one square are removed, will it fit then?

Any competent jeweller should be able to take a couple of links out of the bracelet. They are either soldered in loops so a case if cutting and then resoldering, or perhaps just folded around the next link which would make it easier. Things that are difficult to shorten are things linke rope chain, where the solder floods all the strands and makes it rigid.

only take off links...if u r sure they can be put back in the future..imho

down the line u wouldn't want to sell it to folks...it won't fit....and the links are worth more on the bracelet.....than off.

Just curious, how long is the bracelet? I wear a 7" to abt a 7 1/2" bracelet which I think is about average. A small bracelet would be, what, about 6"? What length do you need it to be? It looks like it could be resized, but I wouldn't resize it so that it fits no one else. I have 2 old bracelets (possibly more) in my jewelry box that were my great aunts and no one in the family, including my little niece, can wear them because they are so small. It's too bad but I will likely have to sell them off.

I wouldn't mess with that honestly. It's a 1930s Art Deco bracelet, and finding one long enough to wear is a miracle. No way would I shorten one!

Thanks all, I don't have the bracelet. The seller wants $799 for it and I held off because it didn't fit ugh... I really like it for myself!

I don't think he meant to mislead, but it would be good if people told us whether the item is theirs or not.
Some people 'forget' all the time, which is rather annoying.

A bit off topic but why is this? Is it because they used to have smaller limbs 100 years ago? I found very pretty Russian USSR silver and amber necklace which seems to me like child's one. The mark is for silver between 1927 and 1957, I can't narrow the date but it fits my neck tight (and not comfortable), I have never had problems of this type with necklaces, they all fit, even the smallest ones. So I wondered if it lost part of the chain or it was just made like this.

Women born in that era were often pretty tiny; nutrition wasn't the greatest and childhood illnesses probably played into it. Some Victorian ladies could wear chokers, as full adults, that were only 12-13 inches long! My dad's grandmother, born in the 1870s, was 5'-nothingmuch. Full grown. The ladies' wrists were correspondingly small too. So, a larger bracelet is desirable as is and worth more than a shorter one because normal-size-for-modern women can wear them.

Definitely didn't want to mislead anyone! I was just trying to figure out if it were possible to have it sized before I spent $800 on it. My bad! I'll make sure to state in the future if I'm in possession of it.
