Have a curious set of what appear to be lead weights and I’m looking some help to see where they might hail from . 89EC3E79-3586-48E5-B917-E4F38FDA01BA.jpeg

Longest one is 5cms , don’t know why they’re numbered they were in a tray of Neolithic artifacts all very heavy nothing marked on them.

Does putting them in numerical order also order them by weight? If not, they look like collector's inventory numbers to me. Agree with komo that they look like tools & wonder along with Bakers why they look so much like stone.

Agree-Numbers seem to be Collectors/Museum markings. The numbers are very low so prob done by a collector/rockhound poss for a Riker Case display.

Thanks for all the replies , they look similar in colour to Roman weights lead seems to go that colour when it’s very old.The left larger piece I think is some sort of stone shouldn’t have included in that photo. All the pieces are too heavy for stone even the smallest would hurt if you got it thrown at you .I have Roman glass and a variety of small stuff and these were in a tray but the collection was maybe split hence the odd numbers on the weights.

I'm headed for an archaeology talk tonight. I'm guessing those numbers have something to do with the trench they were dug from. There was probably an index with more information about the dig. Not weights.
