Featured Urn??

I found this gorgeous urn at a thrift store. It came in a velvet box. Someone said it was for ashes! . I have a hard time believing that. Anyone have any clues to this piece? It’s very very heavy.

 

Glass? Since we can see your hand through it, I think the "ashes" idea is unlikely.

 

Probably Turkish, I've seen very similar there.

...but I'm with Bakers on the glass composition of the urn. I think it would be pretty creepy to use it for "cremains"...

thanks everyone. It truly is amazing and so heavy! I want to figure it out before i attempt to sell. Ive not seen anything like it so its hard to figure the value to sell it.

 

once you know what it is....it';s easier to look for sold examples of similar items...
