Help: what are these beaded necklaces made of?

The blue beads look dyed. The corals look like coral. I'd recheck those beads etc because when I've found those fluted ones in the past they've all been 14k.

Can you get close up photos of an individual bead on both necklaces?

I think the clasp on the necklace looks like the first clasp you linked, but it was positioned sideways when I took the photo so it gives the illusion that it's a fish hook clasp. Sorry about that! Here is a better qaulity picture of the clasp that's easier to see.

Ah, that's as it should be. I'm with the others on the blue beads: they have the general appearance of lapis, but we really need to see them better. These really do look like coral, although suspect the stringing job was a home project.

Here are some close ups that show more detail:

I did recheck them, and I think they are either 10k or 14k. I'm having some trouble reading the test- I'm still learning how to do this. The 10K acid test is on the left and the 14K acid test is in the middle. Both acids seemed to dissolve the golds more than usual for real gold, but they're not fully dissolved so I guess it could be 14K gold. What do you think? IMG_9352.jpeg

I can't always tell lapis from sodalite, especially in photos. Maybe Holly will be able to make a more confident judgement. It would help to see them in brighter light, preferably sun. It's hard to make out exactly what color they are. Right now I still think lapis.

These beads are a bit tricky. I think they are Lapis too, but they really have a lot of random variations in the color! I will see if I can get some better pictures later when the sun comes out. Do you know if gold filled beads will flake when scratched, or is that only gold plated? because the spacer beads didn't lose their coating when scratched.

Gold filled is different from gold plated & should not flake, although can get dull with time & wear.

I think the blue beads are sodalite. The matrix can be a bit pinkish sometimes:

Or duomortierite. It's dark blue often with some purple in it.

The blue ones could be dyed or reconstructed lapis. Lapis is been treated like they do this with turquoise. It depends sometimes of the price you paid for them. Good quality lapis is not cheap. The pink beads are probably salmon colored bamboo coral. I don´t think that they are angelskin coral.

I agree that dyed or reconstructed lapis makes sense. Salmon colored bamboo coral also looks like a match. Thank you!
