Okay, my turn to show some of my work. I don't think I've ever shown this to anyone other than my husband before.

In 2008-2010, I worked for a web and eBay template design company as the creative director. I developed the concepts, layouts and color schemes for the designs, found the graphic elements and worked with the clients, but the actual art work was done by artists and the coding by programmers.

Some aspects of the text formatting were done by someone else or later changed by the client, and I wasn't always pleased with what they did, but such is life. if All in all, I loved working with the clients and doing these jobs.

I'm happy to see that quite a few of the clients are still selling and still using their templates, although this was pre-mobile days and I hope their sales on mobile aren't suffering due to their graphics-intensive pages.

These are some of the designs I came up with....

    eBay template #1
    eBay template #2
    eBay template #3
    eBay template #4
    eBay template #5
    eBay template #6
eBay template #7 (seller no longer has listings)
    eBay template #8
    Website design

If I'd been working independently, I would generally have done more subtle designs, but the company I worked for was known for very graphic designs, so I went with it and had fun and the clients were happy. I always tried to match the design to the client's style and taste as well as their products.

In case anyone's interested, the girl and her horse at the top of #3 is the seller's daughter and her horse. The couple at the top of #4 are the sellers and the dog was their pet. And the two little girls in circles at the bottom of #8 are the seller's daughters.

That sentence should attract attention from the ... hmmmm ... male gender! ;)

Pat, you certainly are creative!! Wonderful work.

    >...web and eBay template design ... creative director.<

Back before the beginning of time, I created, for the lack of a better word, several towns/city and county genealogy websites for The USGenWeb Project. The so-call creative software wasn't out there then. I had to struggle with the coding. With the lack of a creative brain, the sites were and still are so bland. Wish I had known you back when!!

Susan, that is SO cool! I used the USGenWeb sites extensively when I was doing freelance genealogy work. It was always a great resource, and I always felt guilty that I didn't volunteer myself!

Ok.... I'm not really comfortable adding more but I guess that is what this forum is for so....
Having actually had a contract to learn sheet metal work while serving in the navy...when I left I did a few things such as build stainless steel restaurant equipment in Jacksonville, FL then large boats, tugboats & ships in Atlantic Beach, FL then went home to Vegas.
There I built large beams for buildings and other stuff but bored with that my Dad had the idea to check sign shops. The first one I went in hired me on the spot.
These are some of the signs I've built. Note that I never took pictures of what I built. While fun, it was my job and just didn't happen to do it :( and so I've had to try to build a portfolio with photos from online including postcards from garage sales and ebay>
    >My first tall free standing sign with Spanish tile roof. (7-11)
The top is larger than you may imagine, about the size of a very large tent. Signs are much larger in the shop than when they are installed. :)
    >The Imperial Palace letters and logo were the first large signs I made with the letters each 22' tall.
    >The Flamingo letters on both sides of the old tower, not the new, and later the pointy H was added and also on the former International Hotel when it bcamee the Hilton with its 3 sets of letters and pointy H. (It's a swirly oval H now like @)
    >The red arch over David on the the front of Caesar's Palace Atlantic City was built by me in Vegas and shipped to AC. Long gone now but does anyone recall it? Not even the CP archivist remembered this!!! I suggested she go on ebay and buy a card I saw there. :)
Thank you for the opportunity to show them. :) Milt painting Austine Studios sign in Boulder City Nevada approx. 1983.jpg

Well, I didn't plan on starting my day with tears!!! Shiloh must have been as awesome as my horse Peter Townsend was, who still can make me cry - for the joy he brought into my life when I so needed it!!!

    Thank you!
I have thought about getting back into it.
    As an aside but connected>
I just saw some ads for desks and tables that would be so simple for me to make that I'm stunned at what people pay!
Could it be that fabricators are finally getting their due because less people are wanting to learn to do such things?

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

Kingsie, that stuff is great! Now you have me wanting to do some Mexican wall-boxes like those... And Leaf Woman is spectacular. I like her "attitude"... fierce!

Evelyb, Evelyb... love those. I have not thought of doing art in fabrics, but you have me pondering now... hmmm.

I am still being amazed by the objects way back in this thread. We're a heckuvva bunch.
