Thoughts on this antique agate brooch?

    Have the opportunity to buy this for $70 but I am unsure of it. Is the white part an inclusion of some sort? It looks very odd to me as I haven't seen something like it before. Also on the back I see what appears to be glue, is this normal? The setting looks completely original to the piece.... Thoughts on this?

    That’s odd! It does look like filler of some sort but I have no idea if it could be natural.
    So I’m no help at all really!!

    Any marks on the metal? I can see some Numbers on the safety thingy on the pin.

    I wouldn't worry too much about the glue on the back but that looks like a big repair on the front of it. I would probably pass on the piece, if it were me.

    The thing on the pin stem is a clutch from a stick pin. Not original to this pin, someone just used it as a safety in case the clasp opened.

    I would pass simply because that white section ruins the look even if it was natural which i don't think it is.
