I dug this up on Tuesday. I have found imari items like this in the past but never made a great amount from them despite lots of daft valuations from Google. Imari has always been a mystery to me. Still, I bought it anyway as it always appeals. PS its about 12cm diameter.

Imari is about age and quality, early ones fetch money, high quality ones even if early 20th century can also do ok. This is either late inter war or post war, the quality is about as low as it goes unfortunately, so the only value items like this have are as decorative pieces. The market in these later lower end Imari wares is about as low as I have seen it, so unless you are buying for yourself I would steer clear if you are planning on re-selling.

Okay thanks for the insight. Yes I agree, the quality isn't very good. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something. I've seen these on the Internet for approx 60 quid and it wasn't first dibs. I can only assume that they are chancers and willing to take what anyone offers. A bit like me :D
