Going to the estate sale of a retired doctor who's furniture includes a few cabinets from an old medical practice. Nice metal cabinets, some appear to be 1920's era, some may be a bit newer. Excellent condition.

Not sure if these are going to be in my budget after looking at a few listings online but was wondering if you guys have any insights you would like to share or things to look for when considering old medical cabinets.

    Thanks,
    Joe

Look for old vintage medicine containers that once had tablets or such in them.
Some folks love that stuff. That is all I can contribute. Oh and if the dr bag is there in good shape, that may be worth it too.
Let us know what you find if you can.

I have a few old medical bottles in my hoard. I find them really interesting since many are from long defunct companies and they make for great display items.

Old glass medical cabinets sell well, as do rolling medical carts. Look for smaller cabinets or stands as well. Some of these may have sterilizer features. Instrument cabinets, particularly those with mechanical operating features, are also sought after. Keep in mind that some of these are extremely heavy so that may limit appeal. White or green enamel and stainless steel are a plus. Newer chrome, not so much. Porcelain or black tops are a plus.

Styling like this in the photo would be a home run.

Here is an example of a glass shelved cart identical to one I have owned for years.

I suspect this was made by the same company.

Even newer pieces have good value. Here is an art deco instruments cabinet.

These are probably from the 50s.

A smaller version of what @verybrad showed is what a dear friend of ours was looking for, for quite a while.....not sure he ever found it....within HIS budget!!!! They are beautiful!!!

These last three look like they were made by Simmons.

I didn't end up acquiring the medical cabinet. It was too heavy, in a basement, and I had major surgery a few months ago so I didn't feel that my father and I could lift and carry it if we got it.

It was stylistically similar to the first picture of Brad's but was about half the width. Was $375 so I think somebody got a deal.
