Featured Protea flowers painting-ID help please

Hi all,firstly this is not my painting. But I might still take a drive to go buy it. It’s dated ‘66 and I have been trying to figure out the artist for the last while. It’s of Protea flowers so most probably a SA artist. It’s about 78 x88 cm. Any suggestions as to the artist? Thank you for any help and keep well

 

Any suggestions as to the possible surname of the artist? Or any comment on the painting itself? Skill level of artist? Thanks

 

Nice loose modern style to the painting. I like the background a lot. Artist has some talent but am thinking decorative in intent. Have tried various versions of what I see for a signature and come up bank. Best guess.... R. Ralnard. Maybe someone can come up with something better.

 

Much appreciated. Thank you for the comments and for also making the effort to try and identify the artist. I have also tried some variations and checked lists of South African artists of the 1960’s. But no luck. But also as you say likely just a nice decorative painting (so maybe the artist is unknown and just a talented amateur)
