Limited edition mark on Hammersley teapot?

I got a Hammersley Queen Anne teapot in an auction lot. Don't really want it, I was after 2 scratch built Model A trucks but I digress. It's going up for resale but I haven't seen one with this marking so just want to see if anyone else has come across it? It appears to state 1 of 70 or am I reading it wrong?

Duh. I didn't even consider that. I thought they stopped producing these in the 50s. Obviously not. Never seen a dated one before but it makes a hell of a lot more sense than a limited run. Thanks.

 

Taking a quick look at Hammersley model 13166 items, I found only one other with a similar "limited edition" (or whatever it is) mark on it.

My best guess is that the seller really doesn't know WHAT it means, based on this statement in the listing:
Number 3 out of 50 models of this unique teapot - not all teapots in this model have this noted on the body so this one is special.

$850 for a chipped one! He is indeed hopeful. I know they fetch strong money but they'll be out of fashion before he gets that.

 

Not a date, but a kiln shelf mark I suspect.
