Yep, alas, Chinese dyed freswater pearls
They are EVERYWHERE
Some are of better quality, round, big, and sometimes (often...) described by the sellers as "South Seas" or even Tahitian pearls
It is rather educational to browse through Google Images for "AAA chinese freshwater pearls", when it is not possible to handle that many in the flesh!

 

Very nice photos @Suezq , thank you for that. But I have to agree with the above, Chinese dyed freshwater. Nice peacock colours though.

 

Thank you Any Jewelry I bought them from a local elderly lady years ago had a wonderful story that came with them . I just love them maybe the sentiment adds more value when I look at them .

 

Yes so very very many and beautiful the Mikimoto , Honora , Keshi , Akoya thin nacre compared to Tahitian thick, luster, orient , irradiated , dyed :0 freshwater , saltwater , very rare natural : ) so much to know ..who knew ? You all ! Thank you !

 

Thank you Bronwen I did not know some pearls were colored intentionally or irradiated lots of various things going on with them very interesting journey .

 

A wonderful personal story is priceless, and always adds sentimental value.

 

I did want to add about the photos I have a Android phone trying to post pictures would not let me to big so I found and App called " image size " as you can see it's working pretty great the best part is it's so easy .
