Anyone heard of a Jason Wu doll?

OK I know this isn't a "antique" - but I also know the people here can find info on anything!
I found this at my local thrift store & when I looked it up I saw prices in the $100's - and grabbed it up! But I can't tell what model or figure it is - I can't find one with the pulled up hair style?
Can anyone tell me what model doll I have - by the face or hairstyle, maybe? I know it's a 2005 - maybe a convention only doll?!
As always I greatly appreciated your help!

 

I am not sure, is that hair style called a boufant? Jason is a famous designer..

 

I now nothing about these, but my bet would be that the value would be in the "couture" the doll was wearing when issued. Maybe not................

 

It looks like the head of the doll is called Kyori Sato and has been used several times on various dolls through the years. These dolls came dressed, so as Mansons mentioned the lack of her outfit might take down the price.

I selected the doll above because it is from 2005. Yours doesn't have that forehead curl, though. [Or now that I look again, the head on yours is turned so that I can't tell if she has the curl or not.]

So, who knows! But I'm seeing a bunch of that one on the web that do have the outfit.

 

I know the name because Michelle Obama has worn his clothes. Never heard of the dolls before, but Mr. Wu's empire is rather far-reaching.

Looked up the dolls on eBay. !!!!!!!!!

Since he often seems to base his model on a particular person, I'm going to guess that the one you have is perhaps (a version of) Carmen Elektra.

As he is based in NYC, you might be able to find more information at headquarters.

(And my mother wouldn't let me look at those critters!)

 

Think Mansons hit the nail on the head. You are missing the very important clothing she came with, the stand, the story card and the certificate of authenticity. Plus, the box isn't exactly in the greatest shape.

If so, it was not from actual knowledge - but I do deal with Wu couture on an almost daily basis, so I know his "value".......

 

Thanks all - thank you Figtree3! I know the box is in bad condition but I paid $4.99 for it so I can't complain!
Also, mine says "Ultra Limited Edition" as opposed to the ones that say "Limited Edition" - any difference?
