It's a pleasure. Art is beautiful, everyone should enjoy. Simple subject but makes me feel like I'm in it.

It's one of those areas where if you like it, go for it. Unless what you like is creepy clowns on black velvet. Then hide it in a basement somewhere.

We need more rain, so the cataract isn't doing much at the moment....

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

Pink and white lamp... original finial and shade long gone. About 2 feet tall. In working order. Thoughts, please, and I know we don't usually discuss prices, but I'd appreciate a ballpark figure. Also, what would be a good replacement finial (is it even worthwhile to replace), and where would I find one, please?

    Pretty!
Should be an easy find for an apropos finial to match colors I should think....

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

So... to the local finial store I go. Thank you!
Thanks to Wenna, I found several like it, priced between 75 and 250 dollars, varying with condition. It is apparently a 1938 Alacite Nightlight Lamp, and deserves some respect. I'm gonna fix it up.

    Hi Gila,
Nice lamp! Very pretty and valuable. I sold a yellow one just like yours but with the shade and finial for 425 several years ago. Better looking on ebay for the finial or on-line for a large lighting store. I am afraid your local lamp store will not make you happy.

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

GREAT IDEA... and I found one!
I am bidding on an original @1938 finial now! And I checked a complete example to be sure what the original shade and finial were...
I neglected to mention that this lamp was bought for my ol' man's mother when she was a very little girl, dating it to about 1938-40.
    Yeay! Thank you!

I just listed a Whitehead & Hoag fraternal pin last night, so I actually knew who you were referring to! :)

Are those metal or paper, Terry?

They're paper. No back printing. Looks like they used to be connected by tabs.

They look like chromolithographs coated with a glaze. Very nice ones, too.

I asked because they look very much like a series of "gift tags" that were popular in the 90's using vintage illustration art. Not the exact same, because the tags each had a little partially punched hole through which you threaded a gold-colored string. Perhaps an earlier version?
