Flower frog id

Hi Everyone,

Would anyone happen to know the maker of this flower frog? The maker's markings/initials are in the second photo. Looks like faience, with a blueish-greyish hue.

I don't know who made it, but there are some completed auctions through LiveAuctioneers with your mark. Made in Italy. Two of the items have the name Nucci on them. Possibly from the 1960's?

This vase sold for $100 in 2010.

This cello for $180 in 2017.

Parrot for $300 in 2014.

Tigers for $1,800 in 2021.

Not sure I'd call it a flower frog. Tulip vase maybe, or are the holes too small?

No, it's for flowers. Back in the 18th/19th c, England had something called a bough pot which looked similar. You would put decorative branches from the shrubs, etc. in your garden.

 

what if there was garlic in your garden...................

 

It seems like the flower finial would be easily damaged if you put things in the holes, and all the bricks I found have lots of holes. It's not that I like to argue, but then maybe I do.

 

True, but then, who said designers/artists are practical?
