My friend gave me this a few months ago, anyone know who made it or was it made by a military person ? No markings on it anywhere. 001.JPG 002.JPG

    Thank You

Can you imagine the resin smell emanating from a well-used one of these things?

Jivvy the research is my favorite

I would have thought this was an oddity, but if you google "brass belt buckle pipe" ... well, there are all sorts of things to see.

"Buckle puffer" is my favorite ID so far. Plus, apparently there was one in the movie "dazed and confused"... seems appropriate to the title.

I found that exact buckle pipe without the adornment on it while metal detecting once. It still had the wooden bowl on it though. Yours has screw threads on it I'm sure. I agree it's an old hippie type buckle from the 70's probably.

Awfully elaborate. I'll bet they were made in India or the near East.

I will give you a hundred dollars for it. My little brother stole mine and traded it off back in 1979.

Oh yes. They definitely give off a smell of brasso and resin. It's been 40 years since I had mine and I still know that smell.

They used to sell these at the Dead shows and music festivals back in 60s and 70s.
