A very treasured item in my collection. A musically historic record (PC-1-A)

This is a very rare original Four Star Records first pressing of a 45 rpm Promo record for Patsy Cline. Four Star Records was her first record contract before going fully over to Decca Records.

These songs were recorded on June 1, 1955. This was Patsy’s “very first” historic recording session. The songs were recorded at Bradley Film & Recording Studios in Nashville. A Church, A Courtroom, Then Goodbye was the first song she recorded.

Do you have some excellent sources for your collectibles, or are you a great hunter, or both?

It’s a combo of all I guess. I live a couple minutes away from a vintage record store, which I regularly do Record digs there. I’ve gotten a few here and there online vinyl sites, and some when I’ve travelled. For example I found this Patsy Cline when I was in Texas. Otherwise it’s good hunting & being at the right place at the right time.

Absolutely, sometimes the most fun is when you walk in somewhere and that object just moves you/speaks to you, and you know you were meant to have it.

    I love her song "Crazy".
I had not heard of her till the movie of her life story came out.
    She was taken too soon.

I agree, we can only wonder what could have been if she were still alive. An absolutely amazing voice and lady.

I was inspired by Mavan's collection, by her willingness to share it with us, by these chats, and I began to learn Sweet Dreams last night, thanks all! :cat:

It’s also inspiring to know that Patsy’s music lives on in your singing.

I love Patsy Cline, especially Crazy. I had her rendition of Always played at my uncle's memorial service right before the minister came on to deliver the sermon and readings were done. It still brings tears to my eyes.
