photladycresentpin1.jpg photladycresentpin1.jpg The image is in an old brass frame. I am not sure what material the image is on. It is set on a slightly convex form. It kinda looks like celluloid and then it doesn't. I like her moon pin and heart locket. Smaller diamond pin I cannot make out.

Looks like late1880's early 90's. Sepia. Going by a pic I have of my great grand.

I'd say 1880s, from the crimped bangs.

    Hi,
I have a few photos that I thought were celluloid also but someone told me it heavy shellac. But I'm not convinced. I agree with 80s-90s. Looks like most of my high school gradulation class.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

If the tops of her sleeves are as voluminous as they look, I would say early to mid 1890s.

thanks all! Late Victorian. Apparently it was fashionable for an engaged woman to wear crescent moon pin-gift from fiance during this time.

That's interesting... I wonder what started the moon pin fad?

The crescent moon pin was given to the ladies as an engagement gift from their future husbands. The reason being that on their honeymoon, the husband would finally get to see the full moon :oops:

    Pat,

I made it up. I have a twisted sense of humor.
