Help with 2 Community Plate patterns please

I don't buy silver of any ilk, but two Community plate tableware sets fell into my lap. Appear to be older, came with chests and warranty but no patterns. Anyone recognize either of these? I have looked and looked and now they ALL look the same on my searches!

Images are not the sharpest, chalk up to old age...

 

The second one is Milady, issued 1940.

Are you sure the other one is Community? I don't see it in either of my books.

 

Thanks! And my apologies ... heat must have reached my brain because now I see that it's Rogers and Sectional .... Must have mixed them up and looked at the second one twice!!! Sectional of course was easy to find. Apparently both patterns do sell on here.

Second question: Does the chest in which they came add to the price, or should I part out for a lower shipping price? One chest is really scratched, the other one pretty decent. Both have slight mold odor (attic storage in humid south no doubt)

 

The Rogers one is the Guild pattern, 1932. Should be marked either Wm. Rogers & Son or Wm. Rogers Mfg Co.

As for the chests, remember that you can't just put the flatware in the chest to ship. You're really going to need 2 boxes if you do decide to sell a set with a chest.

The one that's scratched up should probably be either sold separately or yard sale or donate. Shipping would probably price a fixer-upper out of a rational buyer's range. If the chests are the same age as the flatware they could also be veneered on pressed board, making exterior work even more difficult.

Actually, it only says Wm Rogers -- Sectional and what looks like IS (I assume for International Silver) with eagle and star. Found Guild -- and of course that's it. Presumably listings that say "Sectional" didn't know the true name, or?

 

The "Sectional" designation is about the additional silver that was added to certain wear points to make a longer lasting product. Yes, IS does stand for International Silver which owns the Wm. Rogers trade marks. If you are seeing listings that just say "Sectional" without the Wm. Rogers, then yes the sellers are mistaken.

 

So grateful for your help here! You know, I have not posted a single question on this board that has not had an almost immediate solution or direction. That's pretty impressive -- and points to all the knowledge that was chased off eBay and is now largely lost to that site. Happy and sad at the same time.
