Collection of Ikebana Vases

Here's a small collection of fairly modern Ikebana Vases I've picked over the years.I love the forms of these.All are unmarked,three are bronze/brass and two are most likely Post-War alloy.They range in height from 6 1/2" up to 10 1/4".I picked them all up at Goodwill over the years. I don't think their value's much,but I love the forms.
Always thought about doing a still life or two w/ them-simple like G. Morandi (bottom Pic).

Thanks very much Petrichor ! Goodwill was my 'go-to' place in the old days.Then new Management came in and voila'-GW Boutique,GW Online...poof !...and it was gone with Le Mistral.
*PS-My Wife woke up from a dream with the word 'petrichor' in her brain-we immediately looked it up,and what a beautiful concept...'Petrichor is the earthy scent produced when rain falls on dry soil.'
We celebrated petrichor when the California droughts ended,and we celebrate now 4 to 6 months a year in the Oregon rain.We both adore rain and neither of Us has ever had 'seasonal disorder' praise the heavens !

The various forms Japanese Ikebana Vases take ie endless.Their shapes mimicking wood,rock,stone,animal,vegetable,etc.

 

I am more used to the ones that are low and shallow.

 

I , of course had to look up Ikebana. My 9 year old granddaughter has taken an interest in flower arranging I will have to share this definition and show her examples.

Ikebana is the Japanese art of flower arrangement. It is also known as kadō. The tradition dates back to Heian period, when floral offerings were made at altars. Later, flower arrangements were instead used to adorn the tokonoma of a traditional Japanese home.Wikipedia

The Baskets with the root or branch handles are beautiful,some are national treasures.
