    Hi.

I've taken over the lease on a garage. There is an antique dining table and chairs that I agreed to get rid of. It looks like it's worth something though? I think it's mahogany. I've searched around a bit and I think its a chippendale reproduction but not sure how old it is. Can anyone help?

Photographs are a bit limited but there basically a set of 8 of these chairs. Two have arm rests. The table is in two halfs. Thanks

The table and the chairs look unrelated - a marriage. Some people would call the table Duncan Phyfe style because of the reeded downswept legs or Regency style. There typically is a stencil number or label on the underside of the table top. What do the underside of the chairs look like?

I think 40s or later. Not the highest quality set. Nice that it has 8 chairs. Maybe worth a couple hundred to the right person. Saw a set of 6 similar vintage chairs in the thrift store this week with nice nedlepoint seats for $60.00. Nobody was jumping on them so that gives you an idea of popularity. You might do better in or near a large city.

Dining sets are not as popular as they once were. Many people have counters with stools in our kitchens or sit in the living room watching TV when they eat.

Good luck with this set :)

Chippendale style reproduction is correct. Can’t date when they were made without much better pics. Brads guess is probably about right, but could have been earlier or later.

Looks like my grandmother's. Hers was purchased right after WWII with chairs that weren't supposed to go with it. Back then you took what was available, and the styles were those from right before the war as often as not.
