I too am trying to find out anything about this horse and it's style. It is about 25 inches wide and 17 1/2 inches high. The square area in the middle is 4 inches wide by 3 1/2 deep. The entire work is 4 inches thick. Those are some sort of wooden balls with real horsehair coming out through the bottoms of them. The carving is unknown to me.The wood is painted with the thickest lacquer paint that I have ever seen cover any item... about as thick as cardboard... but very hard. Good! It looks very interesting, but I can't really help much. It's great that you gave the dimensions.

As I mentioned, it would be best to start a new thread about this. There is a button near the top right on a computer screen. It says something like "Post New Thread." Click on that and a new thread will start.

I can only imagine that nobody else commented on this question because it's tagged on to the end of the older thread.

 

Maybe a discussion can happen here after all! Good find on that eBay item.
