    Hi Everyone,

I hoping someone can help identify this Dining table and chairs which was giving to me, and tell me a little bit about it. In particular, the era, how to tell if its original, or reproduction and round about value?
I havent been able to find out much about the chairs on the internet.

This is what Ive found so far via the internet, that its possibly 19th century, Victorian? The chairs have a balloon back, and calved top and around the base.

The table does extend, Ive provided images of both.

Also, i was excited to find some markings on it, which looks like
    "europe emi
    darn OR dark 12"
    No idea what that means?

Hopefully the pictures are enough detail which ive uploaded.

Really looking forward to peoples opinions and info on this piece :)

Unfortunately, it is a reproduction. A lot of reproduction Victorian furniture was imported to the US in the 80s and 90s when antiques were all the craze.

EMI rang a bell and I had a look. They are a furniture company/importer still in business.

Oh really? Gee my pop thinks this is 90+ years old.. He has held onto it for many years.
Yes I saw whilst doing research that their was a vast amount of reproduction tables very similar to this one, but I never found one with as much calving detail as mine. I also was reading an article saying reproduction antique chairs were made with cushion, whereas mine has spring..
I'm in Australia, so this company must imported here too.

    Thanks for your reply :)
