It came in an auction lot with a bunch of other smalls. Any idea what it represents? I'm not even sure if it's a male or female face. It looks like Peterson is the name on back.

    Thanks! 100_0659.JPG 100_0660.JPG

That looks so familiar. It almost reminds me of the cartoon character from Sleeping Beauty, not her the witch.. Just guessing.

Just a middle-aged lady wearing her daily driver cap. Don't ask me where she came from, but she's familiar.

Looks like a wimple - note what appears to be a band on forehead and under chin. don't know about the point on the back though. Could be a modern pilgram badge - souvenir. Or she could be the nurse from Romeo and Juliet.

How about 'The Friars Club' in NY or Hollywood ? Where they had the original celebrity '
    Roasts' back in the day.

A "Friars Club" seems more likely than actual (religious) friars... I doubt they'd sell souvenir pins...?
[That ebay seller's title is a bit annoying. Monks live in monasteries, not friars.]

Here's the Providence College Mascot (court side). He reminds me more of HP Lovecraft's Providence, ready to summon something up. FRIARS.jpg

Aye, I have read most of his stories. What an imagination he had.

I'm reading currently 'The Weird: A Compendium of Strange and Dark Stories', 3.6 Lbs of odd & bizarre literature from the last few centuries-Kafaka,Murakami,Borges,etc. I like to take a break from the classics & purely entertaining now & then.

It's probably based on Blackfriars but what club or group or fraternity it was for? \0/
