Was thinking Mexico on this one, any objections? Marked 925 only. Not struck or marked like most Mexican stuff. Very generic stamp. Modernist or brutalist work as a description? 057E85DE-084F-4E01-8EDB-DF7129A1AE5D.jpeg D78971DC-8BFF-47DD-8899-7F4E8EFD4F2E.jpeg

Motorcycle chain bracelet, bikers have been making them for years from different metals and a lot of modern pieces are made from titanium.

I swore I had searched using “bike chain” in at least one of my searches, I guess not. Looks like Mexico is the source for at least some of them. Thanks

The John Galliano is as important as the Dior.

I actually had no idea they were Galliano till that google. Bought them because I love bonkers jewellery. And they’re lovely quality.

Sweet score! Even if Ms. Gibson is bonkers they’ve gotta be worth a good deal more than peanuts. I bet they’d sell well in Brooklyn.

Sounds like Jennifer Gibson is quite a character-do you mean 'bonkers' as in crazily priced ?

A To the Trade dealer no doubt. The minute I see housewares or decorating items priced To The Trade in a design magazine I think "they mean no sane human would pay the price they're charging."

Evely-What exactly are they pretending to be w/ the 'To the Trade' moniker ? I get what a 'Bespoke Suit' suppose to mean, but the 'Trade' motto means nobody but the Crown Prince the of Saudis gets in ?
Very weird to fake being too snobby to make a buck.

It's a phrase used in Architecture and Home Decor magazines. It means the manufacturer doesn't talk to just anyone; you have to be a professional Decorator and your client has to be willing to shell out stupid money to get exactly what they want. They aren't pretending to snobby; they are being snobby. Part of the appeal for some, if the item is exclusive. If an item's price varies with the price of the source materials, the mags say "contact manufacturer" instead.

Overpaying just keeps me up at night-raised that way plus working a 9 to 5 will do that to You.

Yup. Or having to resell it. Overpay one time too many and you can't afford to buy more.
