I found these 3 paintings at the thrift store yesterday - they reminded me of the Du Bellay I found a while ago (& still have!) but they are signed by different people (the Souvenir signature...maybe a play on it being a souvenir because I can't find the artist? And the first one by R. Jhon - made me think maybe factory art & they signed R John wrong because they're just putting them out one after another?)
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
    Hope you like these!

There are some problems in these images. The knives they are using to cut the sugar cane are wrong - they should be more like heavy machetes. There are no tigers in Africa, and the elephant's ears are really odd.

If they were actually locally made folk art, they would be more accurate. And the signatures have a sort of Asian calligraphy appearance. I suspect Chinese versions of other peoples' folk art.

The two paintings with the wildlife are so cute. They look like they belong in a children's story book.

These are haitian naive paintings made for tourists. You can easily find them around resort/tourist areas in Haiti but also in carribean countries where haitian migrated.
