Featured Hoarder or storer?

Peggy... absolutely precious hoodlums.
Here are two similar, who belong to a sister.

If I were to hoard, I would like to hoard diamonds. Easy to store, fun to play with, increasing in value. Anybody caring to help me along. thank you in advance.

A good friend of mine use to raise Pugs & at one time he had 5 or 6. Some were parents, some were off-spring & others were just part of the group. They all lived in their own air conditioned / heated dog house that had piped in country music. This was no usual dog house though. It was the size of your usual garden shed with 2 doggy doors so they could come & go as they pleased to the covered porch area where they could lay or they could play in the fenced in grassy area.

I am right there with you on the diamonds. I keep telling my DH a girl can never have too many perfume bottles or diamonds.

Funny addition to the event.....
The model wearing the authentic Button Blanket , & also a carved frontlet headdress....was unhappy that she didn't get to walk the runway in one of D'Arcy's coats !!
( even though the blanket was worth more that a coat..)

Sweet. I was once lucky enough to get a Dorothy Grant jacket for my wife, but one of these would have earned a lifetime of "brownie points."

 

I read were she recently closed down her store....

 

Her website does say she isn't selling retail anymore, but says she is still active at trade shows and making one-of-a kind items. Don't know how current that is. Discount prices are offered through Oct 21, but doesn't say which year...
My wife's jacket is a shorter version of this coat, in black-on-white rather than red-on-black.

It's nice to know I'm not alone. This business can take over your home.

My garage is full to the point that it's hard to work in there on other things if I need to. I've thought about getting a shed for the lawnmower and other yard equipment and free up some space. But I know the "stuff" will only grow to fill any open space and I'll be back to square one in no time.

We moved from a 450 sq ft co-op to a three story farm house with a full walk up attic and a full basement with a garage with a loft. When the movers left, the house, the attic, the basement and the garage was filled.. The movers could not understand. They did not see us moving stuff from three other studios on the same floor..

I'm just glad I don't have a basement and the attic stairs are the pull down type making it difficult to put things up there.

I tell myself that if I could get everything organized and keep it that way, it would take up less room. Then I laugh and go do some more research on ebay.

 

Robin, it's a hazard of the vocation/avocation/just-plain-like-things. You're in good company here!

 

I've been a "storer" since my early twenties. If anyone lives in the New Orleans area and would like to help me to liquidate my stuff for pennies on the dollar, please let me know. It's taken me SEVEN YEARS but now I'm at "crunch time" as my antique property is currently (finally) up for sale.

 

I might like any parrot-related novelties, and I'll pay postage and handling, if you're interested.
