Jiaqing marked vase

I bought a vase with a jiaqing mark and wondering the worth and if it is real

It’s on the bottom of it and searched the internet for the match.

 

But did you find the match on a particular website and if so did it happen to be Gotheborg?

 

Here is the notation from Gotheborg.com that accompanies the clearest picture of a Jiaqing mark there (and which seems to match the mark on your vase.) "593. Mark: Da Qing Jiaqing Nian Zhi - "Great Qing Jiaqing period (1796-1820) made" but c. 1980-90." Note the date range.

Were you expecting your vase to be "of the period" (1796-1920)?

 

Yes, he's wondering if it's real. It does not seem to be.

Chinese ceramics are scary !
I've been looking at pics of ceramic Chinese museum pieces for years,and it's still Greek to me.

Are they worth anything?

 

They are worth the value of a Chinese vase of the second half of the 20th century of a similar size. Production was high at the time and they are nowhere near antique, so expect esthetic or functional value only.

 

Of course the Chinese have been making repros (homages) to previous ages for hundreds,perhaps thousands of years.
