This looks like some type of necklace, but I'm not sure. No clasps, and the gemstone side won't lock into the other end. It stops there momentarily, but will slip right through the other end. Any ideas what it is, or how it works? It is 27" long.
The green stone is somewhat dark, but when turned it has that bright line going down it, which moves with the light. The back of the stone is white (ish). No markings on the pendant. Thanks for your time & thoughts.:)
Sorry about the bad quick pics...

What's the name on the necklace?

I'm wondering if the gemstone side slips through and then you just wear it like that with both ends at the front...kwim?

ETA: I wonder if the pendant is green tiger's eye (quartz) or cat's eye (chrysoberyl) stone. Just a WAG as I don't know stones very well.

Hi tiedye, oops I'm sorry, that little tag reads Thailand 925.
    What is kwim?
I took another pic of it. It seems like if you wear it too close to the ends, with the ends near each other you would lose it easily? The pic shows them farther apart....LOL I'm clueless. I thought maybe it was some type of belly chain, but then again the ends don't lock together...
Thanks for your help! I will look into your suggestions for the green stone too, Thanks again :)

A lariat necklace? You tie the ends together.

Yeah, the way you show it in the pic you just posted is how I was picturing it but it's just a guess on my part.

A lariat necklace like MarieforJan posted might be a possibility too. It could tie together or maybe it had a slide that held it together that fell off?

Thanks Tiedye, much appreciated. Maybe it did have something, I'm not sure. I tied it together, and it does work, but seems like tying a chain could make it break easily? Maybe that's why it's on this type of ball chain though, for extra support?
    Thanks everyone for your help.

You'll get further looking for a toggle necklace, but this one is long enough to be worn as a lariat too. I've never seen that exact design before, but it's pretty. The green one looks like dyed tigerseye; it's not green naturally. It also resembles catseye glass at first glance, because of the dye.
