    A charming little bowl, and I think it could be real. The label dates from the 1980s I think. The spelling has changed since then, Ch'ing is now Qing, and T'ung-Chih is now Tongzhi.

    Tongzhi is not the most sought after period, so I see no reason to fake it. This is provincial ware, hence no imperial mark. Fakers rarely bother with provincial ware anyway, a good thing for those of us who like provincial.:)

    The Tongzhi period started after great political unrest, rebellions and an invasion by the British. Even the imperial kilns at Jingdezhen were destroyed. The reign of Tongzhi (in reality of his mother) was one of picking up the pieces.
    Such periods never produced top porcelain, their focus lay elsewhere. Which is why this period is not sought after and not generally of interest to fakers.
