Featured antique clock- help identifying

This old-looking clock was found in a recently purchased house. I am not sure how old it is or where it originated from but it looks like its been through a lot! I have attached some photos. I am no clock expert so any feedback on age/origin or value would be a great help. Based on some internet searching it looks similar to images of a "French Baker's Clock" but that's all I've been able to find so far. I believe all parts are present/functional but it appears to need some attention from an expert. Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

Thank you! What a lucky find. I wish the Ebay listing had more details and pictures of the internal hardware to compare. It looks like there was likely blue markings for between the hours that have worn off on mine.

Which is the name I have always known them by.

All examples I have seen seem to be late 19th, early 20th C.
French, of course, and probably study would show they are from a particular region.

Value is almost totally dependent on where you are and how you plan to sell it, if you do. Figure an insurance valuation at twice the local retail prices.

 

As to origin, I only see them described as rural/country clocks, like the Comtoise. Some sites even call them a type of Comtoise, which could mean they were made in Franche Comté, eastern France, a well-known clock making region.

Neat clock. The inlay at the top and bottom looks like silver and perhaps the stats are gold?
