Hello everyone I could use some help distinguishing the age and craftsman of this Hermes lighter I inherited. I know it's gold plated with some amount of microns, I believe 20 or so. I acquired it from my mother that also inherited an appt. in Paris, France. I believe this was my great grandmothers or grandfathers. There is a stamp I cannot find online and am hoping you all can help. A little detail I found about the stamp is it seems to have the initials of MQ with some kind of leaf in the middle separating the two initials.

Oh almost forgot the pictures. I can't upload the pictures on this site due to the MB requirement. So I posted a couple on imgur. Here is the link.

I have seen dupont lighters and they usually have the dupont signature and such. There is none on this one only Hermes with a stamp of a leaf and the initials MQ. I don't believe this is made in partners with dupont.

Yea that looks exactly like mine. I still can't put my finger on Hermes being on this lighter. I have been searching for awhile on something similar to mine from flaminaire and not dupont connected to Hermes. Thanks for the help all.

I'll look into Marcel Quercia as well.

I think these were introduced in the late 50s or early 60s. The values of old lighters have taken a nosedive since most postal services will now confiscate and destroy any lighters found in mail, even empty and ancient ones. I used to sell old Dunhills on ebay for good prices.

It is advisable to learn how to resize pictures, and the reasons for doing so.

I have taken the liberty of cropping your pics so that they can be uploaded to this site. They were huge, 2,361px wide X 3,148px high, before a partial scaling by that site! Also they were running around 748.98KB in weight! There was more background then lighter. After cropping out the background they are now 370+px wide X 650px high and 71KB to 95KB respectively.
