I have tried searching with Google Lens with no success. The piece doesn’t look old but trying to identify who made it. I believe this is a relish or compote pot, stands about 4 1/2" high without the lid.

The script is Cyrillic, and it could be Russian made.
Our member @IvaPan knows Russian, and she will probably be here today. Iva, can you help please?:)

Hi guys, sorry for being late, a hard working day it was!
The script on TS piece (sugar bowl,, I guess) is Russian indeed, it says:
Avt. (avtor- author) Aldoshina - the name of the designer
    Isp. (ispolnitel-maker) Melnik - maker's name

The script on don-art.ru says that they make pieces upon request for approx. 1075 rubles. They work on clients pre-order and the exact price and deadline for completing the order should be discussed with the management.

Overall it is a modern piece made (maybe upon request) by these two people Aldoshina and Melnik. It is Aldoshina Lyudmila Vassilevna, a woman, the author designer of the series of pottery.
The piece is a family sugar bowl, of the series "fruits"
The script in the site reads:
В интернет-магазине «Донские сувениры» можете купить сахарница Семейная (вар. Фрукты). Товар выполнен из керамики, ручная роспись. Произведено в России.
This is the online shop "Donskie (the Don's)souvenirs", where this family sugar bowl (variant Fruits) can be bought. The bowl is made of ceramics and is hand painted. Made in Russia.

Then the details of the bowl are given - the brand is Semikarakorskaya ceramics (whatever it is), material is faience. Also the dimensions are given, volume and weight.

I found that Semikarakorskaya ceramics is a brand from Rostov on the Don (Ростов на Дону), Russia. It is a relatively new style, invented in 1970s, it resembles the Russian folk traditions, and is hand painted and also applies cutting technique (??). It is similar to Gzhel ceramics.

Semikarakorsk is a historical town 137 km northeast of Rostov. There are workshops for Semikarakorskaya ceramics located there.

Don is the river Don, "Donskie" means "of the Don", I.e. from a place along the Don river, like Don's cossaks (Донские казаки).

There is also the CV of Aldoshina, artist designer of the workshop. If interested, I can translate a summary of it.

If TS has more questions or needs additional info, I will try to find it.

Thank you so much to everyone and especially IvaPan for the information!! I am in awe of the incredible knowledge and expertise on this board. I don't need any additional information - I was just very curious about the mark and maker and am well satisfied. It is very large to be a sugar bowl and too bad that I'm missing the spoon but I have learned a great deal today.

My pleasure, goodgrief! Glad to have helped.
It was an easy task as everything can be found online, only to translate from Russian. With older pieces it is not the case, sometimes a real forensic is needed to ID.

It is large because it is a family sugar bowl - in Russia they are keen on drinking tea with sugar and it is intended to serve the whole family. At least this is how it is presented in the online offer at don-art.ru

    Thanks, Komo!
