Colored Crystal - Help Identify

Hello group.

I was hoping maybe someone can help me identify this piece. Name, whats the color called and also aprox. value. Below is as much info as I know.
Thanks in advance for any help.

-I know it's at least 40 years old.
-Weight: 3 lbs. 7 oz.
-Height: Total with the topper: 8 1/2 inch.
-Width: 3 1/2"
-Has chip in edge of topper and chip on top of bottle.

 

Looks like pressed glass to me, rather than crystal.
Lets see what others say.

 

I can’t tell if the glass is stained, flashed or coloured through.

 

The color appears to be on the inside.

I like it too.............Be nice if I knew what it was. Just trying to get more info on it, as it has been in the family for a long time and curious.

(as for photos, I was having an issue uploading more)....but the more I look at it, the more I like this thing

 

Have you checked the bottom carefully for any kind of signature or name?

 

@puppypaws I know this doesn't help for an ID, but there is one on eBay right now. Does yours have a square stopper also? I can't tell from your picture.

I would call it rainbow glass.

Definitely do, please, post more pictures, bottom included, a good shot of the stopper, etc. And examine the bottom closely for an etched makers mark, that's already suggested above.

 

I dont see any markings on the bottom.
I does seem just like the one on ebay. Looks the same and the size is about the same.
As I dont know anything about these types of things, I thought it be worth more then 24 dollars. Think I shall use it for a single flower vase

 

Hm. I’ve had a vintage perfume bottle like that, it was Czech. Those better photos look cut.

 

I know this also does not help ID the decanter, but here are some things that turned up in a keyword search for rainbow glass cut crystal. The word Iris Glass also popped up in the searches in conjunction with rainbow glass.








I tried cut Czech and/or Bohemian rainbow glass as Bear mentioned, so far all I turn up as far as hollow vessels is smooth faceted polished rainbow glass, and tons of beautiful rainbow glass jewelry. Beads and rhinestones and faceted crystals, oh my!
