Porcelain oriental bowl - unmarked sort of - new? old?

    This piece is 5 7/8" across & is 1 7/8" to the side edge & is hand painted. There is a blue under glaze ring in the center on the bottom.

    I don't know how to tell age/era, but I'd guess Imari is the key word you need to start research.

    Hmmm. I'd guess this is older than the stuff in Asian markets in the recent decades, but not terribly old. Seems nicely done and more detailed than those. I love the "feather" designs.

    I agree with Laura's "Imari" suggestion as the right way to go for comparisons.

    Yes, Japanese Imari, around the middle of the 19th century. Mat
