Old glass bottle wrapped in leather, age ? Origin ?

    Does anybody know tge age and origin of this very old looking bottle

    Sorely tempted to rip of the leather to see bottle !

    The shape is called "bocksbeutel." More commonly used for German wines.

    Those appear to be cattle or bull brands. Might be traceable. (I would start with Portugal.)

    It reminds me of the leather covered bottles my in-laws brought back when they went to Italy & Spain back in the 1970s. The Italy one was much fancier with gold accents & both had stoppers.

    The logo appears to be a "V" over/on an orb & cross (symbol of Christ's, the cross, dominion over the world, the orb. Now to find a liquor with the orb & cross as their logo with a nane possibly starting with "V."

    Looks like a blown glass bottle as the mold lines are visible on the top - not an applied top - I'de leave it as original - to a certain collector it will probably be worth more in the original condition!!

    Hi, sorry never found anything definitive

    Can hardly remember it, think it sold for about £30, but without an attribution
